Food Recipes: Sweet Biscuits

These are great served with strawberries and home-made whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rye flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold raw butter
  • 1/2 cup raw milk or buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup raw honey

Directions

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or use a food processor until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and honey just until blended. On a floured surface (I use arrowroot for my flour on the counter) pat out dough to about 1/2 an inch thick. Cut out with a biscuit cutter or a floured glass. Place on a cookie sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
