We all know that clean drinking water is a part of the foundation to good physical health. Nothing can substitute for that.
Today, obtaining this whole-some drinking water may be harder than one might expect. Water may contain chlorine, lead, high levels of harmful bacteria, and other unwanted contaminants. Sometimes, these contaminants produce unpleasant tastes and odors, but often, they are undetectable by our senses. Even bottled water can contain these same contaminants, and can be expensive.
The British Berkefeld Water Filtration Systems are the ultimate in water filtration. They're used world-wide for over 150 years to provide virtually the most delicious, sparkling clean water possible. This system is the most advanced passive water filter available. It removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts, chemicals including herbicides, pesticides, foul tastes and odors, and reduces heavy metals without removing the healthful and nutritional minerals your body needs!
Other filtration systems are inferior. Most do not remove pathogenic bacteria and many remove beneficial minerals from the water as well. In addition, the Travel Berkey is powerful enough to filter raw, untreated water from sources like lakes, streams, rivers and ponds.
Contaminants are captured on and within the micro-porous filtering element and are separated from the water. Each durable and efficient self-sterilizing element can be cleaned with a toothbrush or scrub pad and will last for 6,000 gallons.
Its stainless steel construction and easy to assemble design has made it the choice of thousands, including missionaries, campers, home owners, emergency agencies and the preparedness community.
The chambers and base join together so it is convenient to transport even while it is filtering water. Each unit holds 1.5 gallons and filters at the rate of 2.75 gallons per hour.
It comes packaged with two Black Berkey purifying elements and sets up in minutes. Simply screw in the filtering elements and spigot, snap the chambers and base together and you are ready to filter! These filters work by gravity, so electricity is not involved.
For those of you who only have city water available, this filter is a great way to get rid of the excess chemicals and dead bacteria found in your water as a result of the chemicals.
Those with access to well or spring water will find it filters out all the excess minerals that give the water an odor and/or funny taste.
We have also known missionaries over the years that have used these water filters overseas with great success. Many have given it raving reviews. No matter where you live, this will guarantee you pure drinking water at any time.

I bought my Travel Berkey from you in early 2010 and I've had it over 15 months now. I absolutely love it and I'm so thankful that I made the investment. My city water stinks of chlorine, but it smells and tastes so pure and clean after it's filtered. Since I got the Berkey, my young granddaughter has grown to love water. Other than fresh raw goat milk (which we get from a friend), it's all she drinks, and she drinks plenty of it, too. I have a system to provide water for 2 households (mine, and my daughter's). I use the empty jugs from organic raw cows milk to transport and store the water. The jugs are food grade and easy to keep clean, and we use the water so fast it never stays in the jugs very long anyway. I'm not concerned about not being able to see the water level in my (beautiful) stainless steel filter because I draw out a jug of water and then pour in a jug of water. I never draw out water without replacing the exact amount. I have plenty of half-gallon jugs that I keep full and in circulation all the time, most with filtered water and some with water waiting to be filtered. I just pay attention, and we never run out of water. We use filtered water for drinking and all of our cooking. I'm especially proud of my kombucha - I make 3 quarts every 10 days, and this great water makes excellent kombucha and big healthy SCOBY's, too. The pure water also makes wonderful beet kvass, rye rejuvelac, sauerkraut, brown rice, and all kinds of dried bean soups. I do believe filtered water has made a big improvement in what we eat and drink, and in our health. I would never want to be without my Berkey! It was worth every penny I spent on it.

I hate drinking water at other people's homes that do not have any kind of filter in place, and having an awful after taste. I also hate it when you use ice and it ends up flavoring your drink; very disgusting. My neighbor has this and I am placing an order for mine asap!

I am very please with the taste or should I say lack of taste in the filtered water. I use this unit for all of my drinking and cooking water. If water quality is a concern of yours the this unit or one of its bigger brothers is what you should get.
