Product Description

Excerpts from the book Practical Herbalism

The renowned Quaker herbalist, Henry Box, is quoted as saying, "A tea made from Red Raspberry leaves is the best gift God ever gave to women. Its utility in travail is surprising. As a drink before and after confinement, it is unequaled by any other agent. If the pains of childbirth are premature, it will make all quiet. When timely, it will occasion a safe and easy parturition. If the mother is weak, it will abundantly strengthen her, cleanse her and enrich her milk. It is perfect safe under all circumstances."

Red Raspberry leaf tea has been taken freely during all phases of pregnancy, and particularly during the last trimester to tone the uterus, and prepare the body for delivery. Dr. John Christopher of The School of Natural Healing summed it up thus: "When taken regularly in pregnancy, the infusion will quiet inappropriate premature pains and produce a safe, speedy, and easy delivery. Raspberry leaves stimulate, tone, and regulate before and during childbearing, assisting contractions and checking hemorrhage during labor, relieving after-pains, then strengthening, cleansing, and enriching the milk of the mother in the post-deliver period."

Tid Bits You'll Want to Know:

Uses: It's mostly used for internal applications: teas, tinctures, capsules, food recipes, etc. Our favorite use is in teas. Like many other bulk herbs, we add it to many food recipes (salads, meat dishes, soups, stews, etc.) in small amounts for added nutrition and fiber without affecting the flavor. Red Raspberry can be used to benefit men, women (including before, during or after pregnancy, and nursing) and children. It can be used as often as you would like.

Storage: The nutrients in Red Raspberry are very sensitive to air and light exposure. It should be kept in an airtight container and stored in a dark, dry, and cool place. Refrigeration or freezing is great but not necessary.

I am very pleased with my order from More Than Alive! I had been drinking raspberry tea in tea bags, but I find that the flavor of the bulk herb is much better. I will order again!

  2. Raspberry to the rescue!

Posted by Kathy M. on 9th Oct 2013

Raspberry is known to be a relief to those women who suffer from PMS. I can vouch for that. A couple of glasses of the iced tea (I don't even sweeten it, it tastes so good!) and I am feeling much better. I recommend it to anyone who has these "lady issues".
I have to say, More Than Alive has the freshest tasting raspberry leaf. It tastes like it was just picked and dried!

Definitely well worth the purchase! This tea tastes really fresh and refreshing and absolutely better than the tea bags I normally buy. Great amount for a fair price. Would recommend!
