"PF-2 reduction elements are designed for use in conjunction with Black Berkey water purification elements to adsorb the following unwanted elements found in drinking water:
- Fluoride
- Arsenic V and pre-oxidized Arsenic III
- Other residual heavy metal ions
Under normal conditions it is recommended that each set of two PF-2 elements be replaced
after 1,000 gallons. The Royal Berkey system is about 3.25 gallons therefore the PF-2 filters should be replaced after 1,000/3.25 or 307 refills. If the system is refilled about one time per day, the PF-2's should be replaced after 10 months, if the system is refilled about twice per day, the PF-2's should be replaced about every five months). Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. High levels of Fluoride, arsenic and heavy metals may reduce the capacity and efficiency of the elements."

Below are some videos that provide well researched support of the dangers of fluoride. Along with watching these videos, we recommend you to read Dr. Mercola's article: Who is really guarding your water supply. In that article, there is a link to a great interview that Dr. Mercola had with Dr. Osmunson on the subject of water fluoridation.

This is how I remember water tasting when I was a kid. Clean, clear water that is leaps and bounds beyond tap or even bottled water. The smell test is all you'll need to convince yourself. Fill the upper chamber with tap water, and while it's filtering, smell a glass of water poured from the purified lower chamber. I never noticed how much like a swimming pool my tap water smelled like before I started using my Berkey. I also recommend the PF-2 fluoride/arsenic attachments.

I see that it says not to use the PF-2 with well water, why? Our well water is documented to have a very high level of fluoride through out our entire area/region. We currently use an R/O system since we have young children but are looking for something that does not require electricity .It would be helpful to understand why this is not to be used on well water. Thanks for your help.

It amazes me that there are so many contaminants in our water today. Just reading that our water contains harmful amounts of arsenic and fluoride is so alarming! My neighbor has one of these filters, and I have to say that the water tastes delicious! I will definitely be purchasing of these with my tax refund! You know that there's something wrong when you turn on the faucet and it looks like silver water is coming out! I cannot wait to get this!
