The Hibiscus has long been valued because it is a beautiful flower, but it has a very practical side as well. Not only is it beautiful, it is edible and nutritious. It contains Vitamin C and antioxidants, which can help boost the immune system. Not only does it slow aging, but it fights against cancer as well as cardiovascular diseases. It is a good supplementary drink for people who want to loose weight.

The dried hibiscus is often considered a delicacy in Mexico. It can be used as garnish on desserts and salads or brewed into a tea. Generations of people have used the dried flower to create a tasty medicinal tea used for liver and heart ailments. It can be served either hot or cold. The beverage is well known for its dark rich color, tanginess and delicious flavor.
The tea can be used as a natural diuretic and gentle laxative, thus making it a great tea for dieters or people with kidney problems. Drinking Hibiscus tea every day, has also been known to lower blood pressure.

Hibiscus is also rich in amino acids that provide a tightening effect on the skin without stripping the skin of much needed natural oils. Hibiscus contains an abundant amount of astringent properties beneficial for oily skin or hair. When used as a hair rinse, it strengthens the hair against breakage, split ends and detangles naturally curly hair. It has a cooling effect, which helps maintain natural hair color as well as vitality. It can also be used as a natural dark purple red dye for the hair, when used regularly.

This stuff if awesome. It's loaded with nutritional value and is so easy to add to pure drinking water as another alternative for something tasty to drink. I boil water add the flowers and let steep for awhile to make the juice...
then sweeten with stevia or agave and then add a little to plain water and it's awesome!
