Bulk Herbs: Daily Nourishment Tea

Quantity: Not available currently.

We drink this tea everyday for it's nutritional value, and for "good maintenance". Due to the Red Clover blossoms, it should be avoided during pregnancy.

Ingredients

Directions

I usually soak the herb blend in water overnight. The following day, I add say, a tablespoon to 2 cups boiling water. Turn off heat and steep covered for 5 to 10 minutes. If you don't want to soak it overnight or forget to, steep it for 10 minutes or so.

We always reuse one more time by adding more water (no need to soak overnight the second time). As usual, there are a number of other ways to brew up this tea but that is how I usually do it. The following books are good resources on that subject: Herbal Antibiotics, Practical Herbalism, The ABC Herbal and The How to Herb Book.

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

  • This dry herb blend can also be made into a tincture. As a tincture, it would be more effective.
  • The mixture can also be ground up and encapsulated, as some prefer capsules.
  • The Daily Nourishment Tea can be used to benefit men, women (except during pregnancy because of the Red Clover Blossoms), and children.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose.
  • Because Chamomile is one of the ingredients in this mixture, it is critical that it be stored in a dark, dry, and cool place. Refrigeration or freezing is highly recommended, but not necessary. Following these suggestions will delay the loss of its highly valued nutritional and medicinal properties.
