This is a formula from The ABC Herbal
Whenever there are skin eruptions of any kind, including acne, pimples, rashes and pox, herbalists have treated these conditions with herbs known as blood purifiers. Blood purifiers are herbs which strengthen the blood-building organs such as the liver and the spleen. These are the kind of herbs grandmothers used to give their children as tonics. Herbalists believe that skin eruptions are the body's way of removing impurities from the blood. Blood purifiers help to accelerate this process so that the body is able to finish this eliminative process more quickly and with less discomfort.
My favorite blood purifier for children is sarsaparilla. We have used sarsaparilla as a single herb in TincTract form and in combination with other herbs to clean the blood. Sarsaparilla was one of the herbs used to flavor old-fashioned root beer, so we have called the sarsaparilla liquid our root beer extract. I've often given it to my children as a reward for taking something less pleasant such as goldenseal.
My recipe for a children's blood purifier includes sarsaparilla and two other completely non-toxic blood purifiers: dandelion and burdock. Both dandelion and burdock have been eaten as vegetables by various people throughout the world. So, they are completely safe for children.

I have some of the Children's Blood Purifier I just got from you. I started an Alcohol tincture to set, and I also just put some in the crockpot to make a glycerite. It smells sooo good!

How am I supposed to prepare this for my son to take? He has always had little bumps and skin problems. I wonder if this will help him. Also, hes 18 months...is it ok to give it to him now?

you can make a sealed simmer glycerite as it is stated in The
ABC Herbal book by Steven H. Horne. You will need;
1. Canning jar with rings and lids, size depends on how much you want to make a pint is a good size.
2. A pot big enough to hold the jar
3. Purified water
4. Glycerine ( can be purchased from this site)
5. the herbs
Then you will need to;
1. wsh the jar with hot soapy water
2. put one ounce of dried herbs for every pint size jar
3. fill the jar leaving about half inch headroom with a mixture of 60 percent glycerine and 40 percent water
4. place jar in pan and fill pan about half up the sides of the jar with water
5. simmer the jar in the water for two to three hours.
6. strain the herbs out of the solution using a clean, fine cotton cloth. The resulting liquid should be out into a bottle with a tight fitting lid and stored in a cool dark place. It should remain good about 2-3 years.
Also to answer your question, I am Far from an expert and I am fairly new to herbs but my youngest girls are 27 months old and I have given them some glycerites, not yet this one but I soon will. One-fourth to Half a Teaspoon is a childs dosage.
