Do you remember as a kid playing with and even eating mud. Little did I know then that eating mud, could be so good for my physical health. Okay, not just any mud but Bentonite clay in particular. This light gray powder is nothing more than an alkaline mixture of volcanic ash and water (pH of 8.3 to 9.1), and made up of mostly Silica (61%). But, don't be fooled because when taken internally, this ordinary looking powder works wonders in many ways.
Bentonite clay powder is best known as an effective natural colon cleanser. Indians and other natives to the Montana and Wyoming area used it that way among many others (that's where the stuff is found in abundance). You see, Bentonite has the unique ability to soak up just about every toxin it can possibly encounter in the colon. It acts sort of like a sponge once it gets in the digestive track.
Mix a teaspoon of Bentonite clay into at least 8 oz. of water (we shake it in a covered glass bottle because the stuff doesn't like to just stir into a liquid without a fight). Remember to up your intake of liquids to avoid constipation. Similar to Activated Charcoal, you should try to avoid taking it with meals because it can absorb nutrients which the food may be providing. Oh, and it helps to also consume some Psyllium Husk or Psyllium Seed along with Bentonite to help move the heavy load of toxins the Bentonite will be carrying.
The outside of the body can also be cleansed and healed by Bentonite. A Bentonite clay mask draws excess oils and debris to the surface of your skin, boosts circulation to tighten the skin and stimulate blood flow, and whisks away dead skin cells that can clog pores. You can add herbs and essential oils to soothe inflamed, painful skin and fight bacteria that inflame clogged pores into blemishes.
It has also been used to treat various skin problems and as an ingredient in detox baths. A poultice of Bentonite clay can be prepared to treat eruptions such as acne as well as various skin rashes. Just about any kind of itching can also be soothed by covering the area with a thick mud pack made of Bentonite clay and water. Apply and leave it on until it's dried and falling apart. This has served us well for many skin conditions.
The recommended procedure to prepare a Bentonite clay bath is as follows: fill the tub to the desired depth. Add two to three ounces of Bentonite clay, mix, then soak in it for as long as you can. A poultice can be made by adding half a cup of clay to one and a half cups of water or until the desired consistency is reached. Mix it thoroughly and apply to the skin where needed.

I use BC everyday in my tooth polish along with baking soda and water sprinkled on my toothbrush. My mouth feels clean and fresh, and no bad breath. I always have on hand in case of food poisoning as well as in my car in case of a reaction to food as my dad had in a restaurant. If I had the clay then he wouldn't have had to spend two hours in the bathroom at the eatery while we were sending him Reiki. Thank God we didn't hospitalized him, but since, I carry it in my car in a little packet for emergency!

I've been hearing so much lately about this clay that I had to get some for myself. I'm looking forward to trying it for so many things! My grown daughter uses it for her acne, and my chiropractor told me about how much it can absorb toxins. I just keep hearing more and more about the wonderful things it can do. Who would not want to have it on hand?

We have more bugs in our yard this year than ever before and they all seem to bite. They viciously attack my 2 year old Great granddaughter. I applied some bentonite clay I had already made for taking internally, with a cottonball to her many bites, the redness and itchiness instantly vanished!

I just got over an extreme case of poison ivy. I had Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream from the doctor (which does help, but my poison ivy was already blistering the entire back of my leg), went back 2 days later for a steroid shot. That didn't seem to help. Gave up on doctors and pulled the Bentonite Clay out of the cupboard and mixed it with a little water and one drop of lavender essential oil. I coated that on my poison ivy for 3 days. It drew out all the oozing and infection. AMAZING!!!! I also have taken it internally in cleanses and get wonderful results from using the same clay mask on my face for removing excess oil and reducing pore size. Unbelievable results!!!

I recently started using the clay only externally. Now that I found More Than Alive's food grade Bentonite clay I am also using it internally. It is a very high quality clay and am extremely pleased with my results so far. I highly recommend this product as a cleanser and for detox as well.

Since I learned about the clay I make sure I never run out. I first came across it looking for something to help my dogs with their skin problem (bad flea dermatitis). I cut their hair, give them a good bath, then cover them with a thin mud pack (and close the door so they can't come in). After the mud has dried, hose off what's left. Helps to relieve the itching, soothes the irritation. I also sprinkle some clay powder on their food daily.
I use the clay powder in my shoes (in place of foot powder), and when my dogs' skin feels damp I use the powder as well. it absorbs the moisture and eliminates the odor and helps heal.
I had a bite of some sort on my foot that just didn't want to heal. Kept itching and I kept scratching. I finally wised up and put a clay pack on over night and voila-the red ring around the bite was almost gone, the itching subsided and it finally healed.
If you cut yourself, sprinkle some clay powder in the cut, cover it, and forget it. It will not throb or sting, and it will heal in no time. The applications are endless and work every time.

I had a bite of some sort several days ago. It appeared to me to be a spider bite. Instead of healing on it's own like most bites will given enough time this one kept getting worse and more swollen and angry looking by the day. The third night I was desperate to figure out something to do for it so I plastered some Bentonite Clay mixed with water to form a thick paste, covered it up with a loose bandage and went to bed.
The next morning to my amazement the large area of inflammation, infection and angry tissue was gone! The only thing left of the bite was a little indention in the skin.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful product at such affordable prices!! God Bless.

I LOVE BENTONITE CLAY
my 'nutritionist' has had me taking clay for about 2 years now various amounts over the years, depending on what's going on with my body and guess what, the more I take, the better I feel I can actually feel all those toxins getting sucked up!

I have used it mainly when I have a sore or tender spot in my mouth. I wet a soft toothbrush, touch it in some of the powder, and gently massage the tender area. Almost immediately it eases the pain. In a short time, a day or so usually, the sore or tender area is no longer a problem.
