Bulk Herbs: Bentonite clay - food grade powder

Quantity:

A clay mask draws excess oils and debris to the surface of your skin, boosts circulation to tighten the skin and stimulate blood flow, and whisks away dead skin cells that can clog pores…You can add herbs and essential oils to soothe inflamed, painful skin and fight bacteria that inflame clogged pores into blemishes…

To control itching – A simple "mud pack" made with bentonite clay and enough water to create a thick goo can help control the itch and dry up blisters, herbalists say. Spread the clay over the affected area and let air-dry. Keep it on until the clay wears off or gets itchy. Wash off the residue.

For First Aid – To make a healing pack, mix bentonite clay or baking soda and oatmeal with water and an anti-infection herb (such as Garlic, Thyme, or calendula) or an herbal tincture. Apply to pimples, boils, or wounds.

Bentonite, also referred to as Montmorillonite, is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used to treat both internal and external maladies. Bentonite can be used externally as a clay poultice, mud pack or in the bath, and in skin care recipes. Internally, it can be added to water or glazed upon food to help those with sensitive palates. It has a very fine, velveteen feel and is odorless and non-staining.

Its highest power lies in the ability to absorb toxins, impurities, heavy metals and other internal contaminants. Bentonite clay's structure assists it in attracting and soaking up poisons on its exterior wall and then slowly draws them into the interior center of the clay where it is held in a sort of repository. To state it another way, Bentonite is swelling clay. When it becomes mixed with water it rapidly swells open like a highly porous sponge. From here the toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction and once there, they are bound.

For internal use, start with a teaspoon mixed thoroughly in at least 8 oz. of water. After a few days or so, you may want to increase the amount of clay by a tiny bit (a little goes a long way).

From Our Reading and/or Experience...

  • The internal use of Bentonite clay is an excellent and simple way to do an effective cleanse. Among other benefits, it can reduce body odor, skin blemishes, and digestive track issues of all sorts.
  • The clay can be stirred into water, juice or any other beverage of your choice. It can also be sprinkled on foods or encapsulated.
  • We keep it on hand, among other items, to use internally and externally in case of snake bites or any other kind of poisoning.
  • Bentonite clay can be used to benefit anyone: men, women (including before, during or after pregnancy, and nursing), children, and animals.
  • It can be used as often as you would like, and in any way you choose. Just remember to consume LOTS of water while using it internally.

by Rebecca on Sep 13, 2007  [ reply ]

I forgot to ask my question: I've been having constipation for a VERY long time, sometimes I don't have any problem but most of the days I still have trouble going, and i have a very balance diet(I'm from China, cheese or meat or bread is not my main course)
my friend bought some products from GNC store, it has bentonite clay as the main ingredients, she said it helps her with constipation problem.
does drinking pure clay work too? how much should i drink? and how often? or is there any other herb that will help?
Thank you very much!
God bless you.

I have your same question. I worry the clay will cause constipation since it absorbs huge amounts of water. I have not tried the clay yet.
I hope someone who has tried it will reply.

I had a bite of some sort several days ago. It appeared to me to be a spider bite. Instead of healing on it's own like most bites will given enough time this one kept getting worse and more swollen and angry looking by the day. The third night I was desperate to figure out something to do for it so I plastered some Bentonite Clay mixed with water to form a thick paste, covered it up with a loose bandage and went to bed.

The next morning to my amazement the large area of inflammation, infection and angry tissue was gone! The only thing left of the bite was a little indention in the skin.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful product at such affordable prices!!

God Bless,

--Stephanie

Since I learned about the clay I make sure I never run out. I first came across it looking for something to help my dogs with their skin problem (bad flea dermatitis). I cut their hair, give them a good bath, then cover them with a thin mud pack (and close the door so they can't come in). After the has dried, hose off what's left. Helps to relieve the itching, soothes the irritation. I also sprinkle some clay powder on their food daily. I use the clay powder in my shoes (in place of foot powder), and when my dogs' skin feels damp I use the powder as well. it absorbs the moisture and eliminates the odor and helps heal. I had a bite of some sort on my foot tht just didn't want to heal. Kept itching and I kept scratching. I finally wised up and put a clay pack on over night and voila-the red ring around the bite was almost gone, the itching subsided and it finally healed. If you cut yourself, sprinkle some clay powder in the cut, cover it, and forget it. It will not throb or sting, aqnd it will heal in no time. The applications are endless and work every time.

Bentonite Clay
by suenosdeuomi on Dec 2, 2009  [ reply ]

This clay keeps me amazed, I have known it for over 20 years, originally for use of intestinal intense cleanses. But recently I woke up with a sore throat, after exposure to cold. I took a teaspoon of liquid clay on my tongue and let it dissolve, followed by liquids. The result was instant! I had no idea it would work that fast, on a cold, why does nobody ever mention it?
My sore throat came back 2 mornings later and same instant effect. My cold never blossomed to full extent, but lingered only with mild symptoms a few days.

One time I ingested a toxic seed by mistake. I was getting nauseous and managed to drive over to the health food store. The moment I ingested the liquid clay I was able to vomit (sorry) and expel the toxins and was fine immediately afterward.

My dog had ingested bad meat he found on the street and was really sick. After I added some Bentonite Clay to his water and made him sip it, he got better. It could have been incidental, but impressed me never the less.

Bentonite Clay to me is a must have first aid item and an all around first grade healing item, but has to be taken with enough liquids!

Sincerely, Suenosdeuomi
